PacersDue to the length and difficulty of the course, pacers are allowed for the 100 mile runners from the 12 Apostles checkpoint. Pacers are there to assist with runner safety through the night and the latter sections of the 100 mile race. Only one pacer per runner at any time. Pacers: - can only join and leave their runner at a designated checkpoint.
- can only be changed at a designated checkpoint.
- must check-in and check-out with their runner at checkpoints, not ahead or behind in an attempt to speed the transition time up.
- must stay with their runner at all times, except in emergency situations.
- must be at least 18 years of age.
- can use their runners drop bags.
- must carry their own set of mandatory gear and use the night gear as prescribed for the runners.
- cannot provide physical or mechanical aid (eg tow rope) to their runner at any time.
- are subject to all the race rules applying to the runners.
MulingMuling, the carrying of food, fluid or equipment for your runner, is strictly prohibited. Any runner caught using muling will be disqualified. |
