Run NumbersRunner's numbers will be supplied at check in. These must be worn and clearly visible at all times. Unofficial Runners
Absolutely no unofficial runners are permitted in the GOW100s. Any
runner caught doing so will be banned from future entry into the
GOW100s and be reported to the Australian Ultra Runners Association. Changing Distances
Any runner entered the 100 mile event who decides to withdraw at the 12
Apostles checkpoint will not have completed the 100km distance so will
be ineligible for a 100km finish. Those withdrawing beyond the 100km
distance will have their distance recorded but are still deemed to be a
DNF in their chosen event and ineligible for awards. Sleeping OutIf a runner wishes to have a sleep at a checkpoint
they may do so after checking in with the checkpoint crew. They must
also remember to check out again before leaving. While there will be mats and blankets at checkpoints, these are for emergency purposes and there is no provision
for sleeping at the checkpoints. The runner is responsible for making
their own arrangements for any necessary sleeping gear. WithdrawingA runner can withdraw from the race at any checkpoint. It is important to notify the checkpoint officials of your intent to withdraw. Unless the runner has support crew, it may be necessary to wait for the last runner to come through before a ride can be arranged to the start/finish. At the checkpoints that remain open for returning runners an attempt will be made to pick up the withdrawn runner but this cannot be guaranteed until an official is available to do so. DisqualificationBreach of any rules described in this on-line
manual can lead to disqualification. The Race Directors have the
discretional authority to prevent any competitor from starting (even
after successful entry) or continuing in the GOW100s if the runner,
pacer or crew are deemed to have breached the Race Rules or it is
considered the runner will be at risk for whatever reason. |
